Mr. Brown brings a unique balance of entrepreneurial experience coupled with entrenched manufacturing, finance, accounting, supply chain, corporate governance, management, and leadership acumen from the world’s premier food and beverage manufacturing companies.  Through his experience, he has proved himself in capital project management and implementation of LEAN manufacturing and distribution fundamentals.  In addition, he excels in creating and executing strategy, developing people, managing projects, acquiring, integrating, operating, transforming, and growing businesses while providing an optimal environment to foster ideation, innovation, and execution allowing for significant and sustainable top and bottom-line growth.  He has a unique ability to strategize and connect people, processes, business, and numbers to ensure optimal and sustainable outcomes.

He is currently Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer – Red Letter Hospitality (RLH) and is involved with other businesses in various capacities.  He has responsibility for all operational aspects, sourcing, procurement, supply chain, human resources, information systems, finance, accounting, acquisition due diligence/integration, project management, and banking.  RLH manages three independent restaurant concepts in the Erie Region:  The Cork 1794, Molly Brannigan’s Irish Pub, and The Skunk and Goat Tavern.  RLH also manages three Core Life Eateries (franchisee) located in Mentor, OH; Fairlawn, OH; and Boardman, OH.  In addition, he is the Owner and President of G.R. Brown and Associates, a real estate, renovation, leasing, and consulting business located in St. Louis, MO.  Lastly, he is the Owner and President of Sunnydale Properties, a real estate, renovation, and leasing business located in Erie, PA.

Prior to co-founding RLH in 2017, he was Senior Director and Division Controller – Condiments Division of Tree House Foods.  In this capacity, he was responsible for the Finance, Accounting, and select project management of a ~$1.5 Billion division encompassing 6 business units, 11 manufacturing sites, as well as distribution in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.  He also served as the Co-Pilot for the Division President, General Managers, and other Division Leadership and was heavily engaged in a $3 Billion acquisition.  Greg was also the Owner and President of C&S Properties, a restaurant and bar located in St. Louis, MO.  He sold his interest in C&S Properties in January 2018  to focus additional resources on RLH.

His prior experience encompasses a vast array of business and manufacturing roles at TreeHouse Foods, Nestle, and Anheuser-Busch InBev.  Prior to taking on responsibility for the Condiments Division at TreeHouse Foods, he was the Group Controller of the Dressings Division and played a critical role in the turn-around, integration, and growth of the business doubling operating income in less than two years.  He held multiple positions during his tenure at Nestle.  He started with Nestle as an Internal Audit Supervisor in 2008 with a focus on financial and operational auditing.  Soon thereafter, he was promoted to Controller of an Ice Cream Facility, located in Fort Wayne, IN, where he successfully partnered with the Team to execute a plant turn around.  He was then promoted to the Controller of the largest Ice Cream Manufacturing Facility in the World, located in Laurel, MD.  During this time, he also worked in the capacity of Plant Manager and Operations Manager for the 1,000-person 24/7 Factory encompassing two business units and 14 manufacturing lines where he proved to be a catalyst for change resulting in another successful plant turnaround.  At Anheuser-Busch InBev, he worked in internal audit focusing on breweries, theme parks, distribution centers, fraud, shared services, and acquisition due diligence.

He graduated from Missouri State University after earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Minor in Economics.  He subsequently obtained his Master of Business Administration from Indiana University.  In addition, Mr. Brown became certified in Lean Six sigma during his time at Nestle and became a Certified Internal Auditor during his time at Anheuser-Busch InBev.

In addition to his business focus, Greg serves in the capacity of President on The Board of Montessori in the Woods, Assistant Treasurer on the board of Child Development Centers (CDC), and participates on the Erie Mayor’s Business Council.  He lives in Erie, PA with his wife, Anne, and three sons, Harry, George, and Theodore.
